Innovative customized credit card for film and TV production launches in the U.S.

JULY 26, 2012 — CASHét Card LLC, the first credit card to offer cash-back to film and TV productions, launches in the United States.

At a time when the entertainment business faces shrinking budgets, a new credit card will pay productions with each swipe and provide access to major vendor discounts. Each CASHét Card transaction generates a 1% cash rebate to the production, while the card's vendor deals are designed to yield savings on key production expenses, such as travel, lodging, transportation, construction materials and equipment rental.

CASHét Card can be used during every stage of production and gives producers the ability to control expenditures with dedicated cards for each production department and assigned spending limits. Powerful online accounting tools allow for adjustments and monitoring of card spends in real time. CASHét Card also provides instant credit to individual production entities (SPVs) that normally do not enjoy that privilege.

Since its soft launch in May, eight films have worked with CASHét Card. The first film to use the card was “Better Living Through Chemistry,” starring Olivia Wilde, Michelle Monaghan, Sam Rockwell and Jane Fonda. The film’s producer Joe Neurauter said, “When we tried out CASHét Card on ‘Better Living Through Chemistry’ we were surprised about the easy set-up and appreciated the additional and instant budget oversight we were getting.”

CASHét brings together two market leaders in the entertainment financial services sector, Film Finances and Fintage House. Both are preeminent service providers in their respective areas of expertise worldwide, and deal directly with top decision-makers in the entertainment industry. Their combined businesses are involved in more than 300 new film and television productions annually with collective budgets exceeding $3 billion.

Paul Rogers, COO of CASHét Card, stated, “Our specific industry expertise makes this CASHét program so unique, and our team is able to respond to a production's needs around the clock. The first producers to use CASHét have found that more budget expenses than expected could be put on the card — with the rebate adding up in a very substantial way. Plus, the card’s custom reporting and controls can give producers the comfort they need, whether their budget is $5 million or a $100 million.”

The CASHét Card program will soon expand beyond the United States. CASHét will be launching other business solutions for the entertainment industry as well.
